The Hallway Seating & Storage Project
Concept
Design a functional yet inviting hallway area with integrated seating and discreet footwear storage for everyday convenience.
Solution
A high-backed painted panel anchors the space, complemented by lift-up tulip seats that provide hidden storage while harmonising with the home’s classic aesthetic.
Design Journey
Our approach focused on blending practicality with elegance by integrating hidden storage beneath the seats while maintaining a classic hallway look.
The Artisan Clock Project
Concept
Create a unique memorial clock that incorporates 12 inherited timepieces, transforming sentimental heirlooms into a functional centrepiece.
Solution
A sculpted tulip wood frame with recessed watches positioned at each hour mark. The main clock mechanism is discreetly recessed at the rear, featuring client-specified hand styles for a personalised finish.
Design Journey
This project was about honouring heritage while crafting something timeless. We focused on precision and symmetry, ensuring each watch was seamlessly integrated into the design. The result is a striking piece that blends craftsmanship, sentiment, and functionality.
The Tile-Inset Corner Table Project
Concept
Design a compact corner stand table to the client’s exact dimensions, incorporating cherished tiles as a distinctive design element.
Solution
The stand was crafted from flat-backed, shaped, and stained tulip wood, with tiles recessed into the surface for a smooth, integrated finish. A simple black metal frame provided stability and a modern contrast to the warm wood tones.
Design Journey
The process began with precise measurements to ensure a perfect fit for the corner space. Tulip wood was shaped and stained to complement the tiles’ colors and textures, while each tile was carefully recessed to create a seamless surface. The black metal frame was selected for its minimalist aesthetic and strength, resulting in a piece that combines practicality with personal meaning.
The Sculpted Lime Burl Hook Project
Concept
Create a series of sculptural coat hooks from lime burls for an entrance hallway, blending functionality with organic artistry.
Solution
Each lime burl was selectively stripped back to reveal unique shapes and natural contours, forming practical hook points. The pieces were sanded, treated, and finished for durability, with recessed hidden hanging points for a clean, seamless installation at the client’s site.
Design Journey
The process began with raw lime burls, chosen for their distinctive textures. Careful shaping preserved their natural character while ensuring usability. After refining the forms, the hooks were meticulously sanded and treated to enhance grain patterns and protect against wear. Hidden mounting points maintain the sculptural aesthetic, resulting in a functional installation that elevates the hallway space.
The Ash Outdoor Table Project
Concept
Create a functional outdoor table using the stump of the client’s fallen ash tree, preserving its sentimental and natural value.
Solution
The ash wood was fully reconditioned - cut, shaped, and treated to restore its strength and beauty for a durable tabletop. A reclaimed metal frame was refurbished and finished to the client’s specifications, resulting in a sustainable and bespoke piece.
Design Journey
This project began with a weathered stump, transformed through meticulous craftsmanship. The process included deep conditioning of the wood, precision cutting, and shaping to highlight its organic grain. The reclaimed metal frame was sourced, repaired, and custom-finished, ensuring harmony between rustic charm and modern resilience.
The Banquet Garden Table Project
Concept
Design a statement garden table large enough for banquet-style dining, crafted from reclaimed materials to combine sustainability with rustic charm.
Solution
We sourced 3.5-meter reclaimed scaffold boards, carefully cut, sanded, and treated for durability. The boards were mounted on solid wooden stabilisers and set atop a reclaimed metal frame, creating a robust yet elegant outdoor centrepiece.
Design Journey
This project was all about scale and character. We began by selecting boards with rich, weathered textures, then restored them to ensure longevity without losing their natural patina. The reclaimed metal frame provided strength and a touch of industrial style, while the wooden stabilizers added warmth and balance. The result is a table that invites gatherings and celebrates craftsmanship and sustainability.
The Cherry Wood Memorial Project
Concept
The client requested a memorial plaque instead of a traditional gravestone, using a personal piece of gnarled cherry wood.
Solution
The cherry wood was carefully shaped and treated, then mounted onto a stand crafted from the same material to comply with graveyard regulations for biodegradable components. We sourced the brass plaque and partnered with a specialist company to complete the inscription, ensuring precision and quality. The plaque was recessed into the wooden frame, and we installed the finished piece onsite, creating a respectful and enduring tribute.
Design Journey
This project carried emotional significance. The process began with a raw, weathered piece of cherry wood, rich with natural imperfections that told its own story. Each step - from shaping and conditioning the wood to crafting a matching stand - was guided by sensitivity and precision. After sourcing the brass plaque and coordinating the inscription, it was recessed into the frame, balancing durability with elegance. Finally, the installation was completed onsite, ensuring the memorial harmonised with its surroundings while honouring the client’s wishes for simplicity and sustainability.
The Butchers Pig Restoration Project
Concept
The client cherished their wooden pig figurine, which had been repainted several times over the years but had fallen into severe disrepair. The brief was to restore the piece to its former glory while preserving its sentimental value.
Solution
The restoration involved treating the wood for rot, reshaping damaged areas, and carefully removing, refining, and reattaching one ear to restore its original form. Multiple rounds of sanding and varnishing were applied to revive the natural grain and ensure durability. Every step was carried out with meticulous care.
Design Journey
This project required patience and precision. The process began with stabilising the wood through rot treatment, followed by delicate shaping to correct imperfections. Several sanding stages smoothed years of wear, and successive varnish layers brought back a rich finish. The result was a beautifully revived figurine that retained its character while looking renewed.
